Middle Fork of the Salmon Kayaking

  • Trip: 6 day / 5 night, all-inclusive downriver journey
  • Location: Meet in Stanley, Idaho
  • Group Size: 22 Guests + Instructors + River Guides

Join expert kayak instructors Phil and Mary DeRiemer of DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking for six days of kayaking on the beautiful Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Phil and Mary have lead groups down some of the world’s best kayaking rivers for over 20 years, and each year they lead two groups down the Middle Fork. This is a great opportunity for Class III+ and Class IV hardshell kayakers to enjoy this beautiful river with the professional guidance of Phil and Mary.

While you are honing your skills on the water, the Northwest Rafting Company guides will take care of raft support including rowing non-kayaker friends and family down the river. They’ll also transport your gear, prepare excellent meals, and handle all of the camp logistics. This allows you to focus on your day on the river and kick back and relax when you get to camp.

We schedule these trips for late June and early July when the river is typically at a perfect level for kayaking and the weather is sunny. Phil and Mary’s knowledge of the river for kayakers means that you can maximize play and receive coaching on rapids. When possible, we camp near fun spots so you can play until the sun goes down.

While kayakers spend the day with Phil and Mary on the river, friends and family can journey down the river in a raft rowed by a NWRC guide and experience the beauty of the Middle Fork alongside the paddlers.
